Volunteer of the Month
Michele Deutsch

 VOM Jan 2017
We are pleased to recognize Mrs. Michele Deutsch as our January Volunteer of the Month.  Michele is a retired Wilson Borough Elementary School teacher who continues to spend her time at our school helping our students.  She is a friendly and familiar face to some of our first grade students who regularly see her volunteering in Mrs. Ulshafer’s classroom.  Her past teaching experience allows her to assist students in small, instructional groups.  Michele has taken the lead in planning our Veteran’s Day program for several years.  She spends a great amount of time each year coordinating the Veteran’s Day fourth grade question and answer panel, parade, and student assembly.  This year, it was Michele’s idea to plan something special for our community.  She seamlessly and successfully invited 50 veterans and their guests to be recognized by PA State Senator Lisa Boscola’s office.  This event was truly special, and Michele was greatly thanked by the veterans for helping to provide it.  The students, staff, and community of Wilson Borough are very fortunate to have such a dedicated and devoted volunteer.
